Gerrit Bornhoefft advises startups, venture capital and private equity investors, growth companies and search funds as well as entrepreneurs on corporate, capital market, in particular with regard to company foundations, investments, financing (also via the capital markets) and on transactions (mergers & acquisitions, exit) as well as on the preparation of securities prospectuses (for equity and debt transactions). In addition, he advises and represents clients in (international) arbitration proceedings.

Career
After prior freelance and research work with NEEF LEGAL during and after his studies, Gerrit Bornhoefft is working for NEEF LEGAL as Attorney-at-Law since January 2025. He studied law at the Free University Berlin (First State Exam, 2018) as well as at the Stockholm University (LL.M. in International Commercial Arbitration, 2021) and the Columbia University in the City of New York (LL.M., James Kent Scholar, 2022). Gerrit Bornhoefft served his legal traineeship (Second State Exam, 2025) at the Higher Regional Court in Berlin with stages at the German Federal Ministry of Finance, in the M&A team of an international law firm in Frankfurt am Main and at the German American Chamber of Commerce in New York (GACC NY). He was lecturer at the Free University Berlin for a course on the medium moot court and legal competence (2020-2022). Besides his mother tongue German, he speaks business fluent English.
